Book early
Burn-week dates are the first to go. Request them as soon as you have tickets — even before your camp plans are final.
Get a Vehicle Pass
Every vehicle entering Black Rock City needs a Burning Man Vehicle Pass, bought separately from your ticket.
Plan gray & black water
Never dump on the playa. Arrange a pumping service through your camp or a vendor, or keep tank use light. Fines for dumping are the renter's responsibility.
Fuel, water & propane on the way
Top up fuel and water in Reno or Fernley before heading north on NV-447 — services near Gerlach are limited and lines are long.
Keep the dust out
Keep windows and vents closed in dust storms, use the entry mat, and store bikes and costumes in sealed bins.
Leave no trace
No paint, glitter, feathers, adhesives or decorations attached to the RV — and take all MOOP home with you.
Coachella, EDC & other festivals
Not just the playa. Guests take our RVs to Coachella and Stagecoach in Indio, EDC in Las Vegas, Lightning in a Bottle and more. A self-contained RV gives your crew real beds, a hot shower, A/C and a fridge between sets — and add-ons like Starlink, a bike rack or extra storage make festival logistics easier.

Can I rent an RV for Burning Man in Los Angeles?
Yes. FamRV welcomes Burning Man rentals from our Northridge location in Los Angeles. The RV is playa-prepped before pick-up, and the post-burn dust clean is included.
How much does a Burning Man RV rental cost?
Burn-week pricing is set per season and depends on dates and length. Our standard rates start from $249 per night; send a request with your dates for an exact Burn-week quote, including any minimum nights.
How long is the drive from Los Angeles to Burning Man?
Black Rock City is roughly 550 miles and 9–10 hours from Los Angeles, usually via CA-14 and US-395 to Reno, then I-80 and NV-447 north through Gerlach. Expect extra time in the Gate line on arrival.
Do you rent RVs for Coachella, EDC and other festivals?
Yes. Besides Burning Man, we welcome Coachella, Stagecoach, EDC, Lightning in a Bottle and other festival rentals. Buy your festival's RV or camping pass together with your tickets, and request the RV early — festival weekends book first.
Do I have to clean the playa dust off the RV?
No — standard playa dust cleaning is on us. Charges apply only for damage, stains, decorations or adhesive residue, burns, or trash left in the RV.
Can I decorate the RV for Burning Man?
You can decorate around it — flags, shade structures and lights at your camp — but nothing may be attached to the RV with adhesives, screws or paint.
