FAMRV LLC
Terms of Service
Effective date: October 12, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of famrvrental.com (the “Site”) and any recreational vehicle rental and related services provided by FAMRV LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as FamRV (“FamRV,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Please read carefully. Section 26 contains a binding arbitration agreement and class action waiver that affect how disputes are resolved. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days as described there. Sections 13, 18 and 21 limit our liability and make you responsible for the vehicle during your rental.
1. Agreement to these terms
By accessing the Site, submitting a booking request, paying a deposit, signing a Rental Agreement, or taking possession of a vehicle, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or our services.
Every rental is also governed by a written rental agreement, which may include a vehicle condition report, fee schedule, protection plan selection and addenda (together, the “Rental Agreement”). These Terms are incorporated into the Rental Agreement. If these Terms and a signed Rental Agreement conflict, the Rental Agreement controls for that rental.
If you book on behalf of a group, a company, or another person, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for them, and you remain jointly and severally responsible for all obligations of the rental.
2. Definitions
- “Renter” or “you” means the person who books and signs the Rental Agreement, and is responsible for the rental.
- “Authorized Driver” means a driver approved by us in writing and listed on the Rental Agreement.
- “Vehicle” means the motorhome rented to you, including its tires, keys, appliances, generator, awning, slide-outs, furnishings, equipment, accessories and documents.
- “Rental Period” means the time from when you take possession of the Vehicle until it is returned to us and checked in, including any extension or late return.
3. Renter & driver eligibility
- The Renter and every Authorized Driver must be at least 25 years old and hold a valid, unexpired driver's license in their own name. International drivers may also need an International Driving Permit.
- We may require government-issued photo ID, proof of address, proof of personal auto insurance, a driving record check, and a payment card in the Renter's name. You authorize us to verify this information.
- Only Authorized Drivers may drive the Vehicle. Allowing anyone else to drive is a material breach of these Terms and may void any protection plan, making you fully responsible for all loss and damage.
- We may decline, cancel or end any rental at our sole discretion, including if information you provide is false or incomplete, if a driver appears impaired, or if we believe the Vehicle or others are at risk. If we cancel before pick-up for a reason other than your breach, we will refund amounts paid for that rental.
4. Booking requests & confirmation
Submitting the booking form on the Site, emailing, calling or messaging us is a request only. A booking is confirmed only when we confirm it in writing and receive any required payment or deposit. We are not obligated to accept any request.
Prices, availability, photos, floor plans, specifications and descriptions on the Site are provided for general information. The Vehicle you receive will be a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter motorhome of the standard described, but features, colors and equipment may vary slightly between vehicles and model years. We may correct errors in pricing or descriptions at any time, including after a request is submitted; if a correction affects your confirmed price, you may cancel for a full refund.
5. Rates, payment & security deposit
- Rates are quoted per night and may vary by season, holiday, event (including Burning Man), length of rental and demand. The “from” price on the Site is a starting rate and is not a guarantee for any specific date.
- Your quote will show the nightly rate, any minimum-night requirement, optional add-ons (such as extra miles, gated parking or protection upgrades), taxes and fees. Applicable taxes are your responsibility.
- Payment terms, including any booking deposit and the date the balance is due, are stated in your confirmation. If the balance is not paid when due, we may cancel the booking under Section 6.
- A refundable security deposit is required for every rental, in the amount stated in your confirmation. It may be collected as a charge or a card authorization hold. We may apply the security deposit to any amounts you owe under these Terms or the Rental Agreement, including damage, cleaning, fuel, mileage, late fees, tickets and tolls. The security deposit is not a cap on your liability; you remain responsible for amounts that exceed it.
- We will return the unused portion of the security deposit, with an itemized statement of any deductions, after the Vehicle is returned and inspected — normally within 14 days. Some charges (such as tolls, citations or repair invoices) may arrive later and may be billed after the deposit is released.
- You authorize us to charge the payment method on file for all amounts due under these Terms and the Rental Agreement, including amounts discovered after return.
6. Cancellation, changes & refunds
We keep cancellation flexible, because plans change. Please contact us as early as possible at [email protected] or (818) 925-1555. A cancellation is effective when we acknowledge it in writing.
Cancellation by you
- 7 or more days before pick-up: full refund of the rental amounts paid, less any non-refundable third-party costs we have paid on your behalf (such as event-specific services you requested), if disclosed at booking.
- Less than 7 days before pick-up: we will work with you in good faith to move your booking to new dates or issue a credit toward a future rental. Cash refunds inside 7 days are at our discretion and may depend on whether we are able to re-rent the Vehicle for your dates.
- No-shows: if you do not pick up the Vehicle within 24 hours of the scheduled pick-up time without contacting us, the booking is treated as cancelled less than 7 days before pick-up.
- Any different cancellation terms stated in your written confirmation (for example, for Burning Man week or holiday peak dates) apply to that booking instead.
Changes & early returns
- Date changes are subject to availability and the rates for the new dates. Extensions must be approved by us in writing before your scheduled return time.
- There is no refund for unused nights if you return the Vehicle early or end your trip early for any reason.
Cancellation by us
If the Vehicle becomes unavailable due to an accident, mechanical issue, safety recall, damage by a prior renter or other cause beyond our reasonable control, we will try to provide a comparable vehicle. If we cannot, we will refund all amounts you paid for that rental. This refund is your sole and exclusive remedy, and we are not responsible for other costs such as flights, lodging, campsite reservations, event tickets or lost vacation time.
7. Pick-up, return & late return
- Pick-up and return take place at 8344 Reseda Blvd, Northridge, CA 91324, at the times stated in your confirmation, unless we agree otherwise in writing. One-way rentals, early pick-up and late drop-off may be available on request for an additional charge.
- At pick-up we will walk through the Vehicle with you and record its condition, mileage, fuel, propane and generator hours, often with photos. Please point out any existing damage before you leave; the condition report is the baseline for return.
- The Vehicle is provided with full fuel and propane, fresh water, and empty holding tanks. Return it on time, in the same condition you received it (normal wear excepted), with full fuel and propane, black and gray tanks emptied (unless you purchased our tank-dumping or refill add-on), fresh water tank as instructed, interior reasonably clean, trash removed, and all equipment and keys returned.
- Late return: returns more than 1 hour late without our written approval are charged at the nightly rate for each additional day or part of a day, plus any late fee stated in the Rental Agreement and any costs we incur because of the delay (including compensation owed to the next renter). If the Vehicle is not returned within 24 hours of the agreed time and you have not contacted us, we may report it as stolen and recover it at your expense.
- Gated parking: when you add our optional gated parking (available for an additional charge), you may leave one personal vehicle at our location for the Rental Period. You park at your own risk; we are not responsible for theft of or damage to your vehicle or its contents except as caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct. Vehicles not collected within 48 hours after the Rental Period ends may be towed at the owner's expense.
8. Mileage
Each rental includes 200 miles per night, calculated over the whole Rental Period. Miles above the total allowance are charged at the per-mile rate stated in your confirmation. Additional-mile and unlimited-mile packages may be available on request at the time of booking. Mileage is measured by the Vehicle's odometer; tampering with or disconnecting the odometer is prohibited and will result in charges based on our reasonable estimate of miles driven.
9. Use of the vehicle
During the Rental Period you are responsible for the Vehicle and agree to:
- Obey all traffic, parking, camping and environmental laws and rules.
- Ensure every occupant uses a seat belt while moving, children use legally required car seats, and the number of occupants never exceeds the number of seat belts.
- Know the Vehicle's height, width and length, and avoid low-clearance structures, drive-throughs, overhangs, tree branches and parking garages. Overhead and side-clearance damage is your responsibility.
- Never drive with a slide-out extended, the awning out, steps extended or the generator exhaust obstructed. Retract the awning in wind or rain and whenever you leave the Vehicle unattended.
- Use only the correct fuel (diesel) and fluids, and follow all operating instructions provided at handover for the generator, propane, water, sewer and electrical systems.
- Lock the Vehicle and keep keys secure whenever it is unattended.
- Stop driving and contact us immediately if a warning light comes on, a tire is damaged, or the Vehicle is not operating normally.
10. Prohibited uses
The following are prohibited. Any prohibited use is a material breach, may void any protection plan or coverage, and makes you responsible for all resulting loss, damage, fines and costs:
- Driving by anyone who is not an Authorized Driver.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, drugs or any impairing medication, or while fatigued or distracted.
- Driving off paved or properly maintained gravel roads, including on beaches, sand, dry lake beds (except designated event roads as permitted under Section 12), trails, fields or through water.
- Racing, speed contests, pushing or towing anything, or carrying cargo on the roof.
- Taking the Vehicle outside the continental United States (including into Mexico or Canada) without our prior written consent.
- Commercial use, including hauling goods for hire, rideshare, subletting, re-renting, film or photo production, or advertising, without our prior written consent.
- Any illegal purpose, transporting illegal items, hazardous or flammable materials (other than normal quantities of personal supplies), firearms where prohibited by law, or fireworks.
- Hosting parties or events in the Vehicle, or occupancy beyond its sleeping capacity.
- Dumping waste water anywhere other than an approved dump station.
- Modifying, decorating, painting, wrapping, drilling, or attaching anything to the Vehicle with adhesives, screws or fasteners.
- Giving false information to us, to law enforcement or to an insurer in connection with the rental.
11. No pets, no smoking
FamRV is a strictly pet-free fleet. No animals of any kind are allowed in the Vehicle, except where we are required by law to permit a service animal; please tell us at booking if this applies to you.
Smoking and vaping of any substance (including tobacco, cannabis and e-cigarettes) is prohibited inside the Vehicle at all times.
If we find evidence of an animal or of smoking or vaping (including hair, odor, ash, burns or residue), you will be charged the cleaning and odor-remediation fee stated in the Rental Agreement, plus the actual cost of any repair or replacement, plus loss of use while the Vehicle is out of service.
12. Burning Man, festivals & events
We welcome Burning Man and festival trips (such as Coachella, Stagecoach and EDC). You must follow each event's rules, including its vehicle, RV and camping-pass requirements. For Burning Man rentals:
- We prepare the Vehicle for the playa before pick-up, and standard post-event dust cleaning is included in your rental.
- You must follow all Burning Man, Bureau of Land Management and Pershing County rules, including Leave No Trace and waste-water rules. Grey and black water may only be pumped by an authorized service or emptied at an approved dump station.
- Charges still apply for damage; stains; paint, glitter, feathers or decorations; adhesive residue; burns; excessive trash or MOOP left in or on the Vehicle; and any fines issued in connection with the Vehicle.
- Event-week rentals may have different minimum nights, pricing, deposit and cancellation terms, which will be stated in your confirmation.
13. Insurance & damage responsibility
- Liability coverage. Your rental includes commercial rental liability insurance for Authorized Drivers, on the terms, limits and exclusions of our policy as summarized in the Rental Agreement. Coverage does not apply to prohibited uses or unauthorized drivers.
- Roadside assistance. 24/7 roadside assistance is included for covered mechanical events. Roadside services needed because of your error (for example, lock-outs, running out of fuel, getting stuck, or misfuelling) may be charged to you.
- Physical damage. You are responsible for loss of or damage to the Vehicle from any cause during the Rental Period, up to the deductible or maximum responsibility for the protection plan you selected. Protection plans do not cover damage caused by a prohibited use, an unauthorized driver, intentional acts, gross negligence, or any exclusion listed in the Rental Agreement; in those cases you are responsible for the full amount.
- Items commonly excluded from protection (unless your Rental Agreement says otherwise) include overhead and clearance damage, awning damage, slide-out damage from improper operation, tire and wheel damage, interior damage, undercarriage damage, damage from improper use of the generator, water, sewer or propane systems, and freeze damage.
- What you may owe. To the extent permitted by law, amounts you may owe for damage or loss include reasonable repair or replacement costs, loss of use while the Vehicle is out of service (based on the nightly rate and documented lost rentals), towing, storage, diminished value where applicable, and reasonable administrative costs. We will provide an itemized estimate or invoice for damage charges.
- Your personal auto policy, travel insurance or credit card benefits may or may not cover a motorhome rental. It is your responsibility to check before you travel.
14. Accidents, theft & breakdowns
- In any accident, theft, vandalism or injury: make sure everyone is safe, call 911 if anyone is hurt, notify the police, obtain a police report where available, and call us at (818) 925-1555 as soon as it is safe to do so — and in all cases within 24 hours.
- Collect names, contact, license and insurance details of all parties and witnesses, and take photos. Do not admit fault or make agreements with other parties. Cooperate fully with us and our insurers.
- Do not authorize repairs, towing or parts purchases over $100 without our prior approval. Approved repair costs will be reimbursed against original receipts and returned replaced parts if the cause was not your fault or a prohibited use.
- If the Vehicle becomes inoperable through no fault of yours, we will work with roadside assistance to repair it or, where reasonable, arrange a replacement. If neither is possible, we will refund the nightly rate for the nights lost; we are not liable for other trip costs.
15. Fees & charges
In addition to the rental price, you agree to pay the following, as applicable, at the amounts stated in your confirmation or Rental Agreement or, if no amount is stated, our actual reasonable cost:
- Additional miles above the included allowance.
- Optional add-ons you select, such as gated parking, tank dumping, fuel or propane refill, early pick-up or late drop-off, Starlink, bike racks, additional storage, or one-way drop-off.
- Loss of or damage to rented add-on equipment (for example, Starlink hardware or bike racks).
- Fuel and propane not replaced to pick-up levels, plus a refueling service charge.
- Black tank not emptied (dump fee).
- Cleaning beyond normal (interior or exterior), trash removal.
- Pet, smoking or odor remediation (Section 11).
- Late return (Section 7).
- Lost keys, missing equipment or supplies.
- Damage not covered by your protection plan (Section 13).
- Tickets, tolls, fines and their administrative fee (Section 16).
- Recovery costs if the Vehicle is abandoned or not returned.
16. Tickets, tolls & fines
You are responsible for all parking and traffic citations, toll charges, towing and impound fees, camping or event fines, and other penalties incurred during the Rental Period. If any of these are billed to us, we may pay them and charge you the amount plus a reasonable administrative fee as stated in the Rental Agreement, or transfer liability to you by providing your information to the issuing authority.
17. Personal property
We are not responsible for loss of, theft of or damage to personal property left in or on the Vehicle, or in a vehicle parked at our location, during or after the Rental Period. Items left in the Vehicle after return will be held for 30 days and may be shipped to you at your cost, after which they may be discarded or donated.
18. Assumption of risk & release
Motorhome travel, camping, off-grid living and attendance at outdoor events involve inherent risks, including weather, extreme heat or cold, road and campground conditions, wildlife, fire, carbon monoxide and propane hazards if equipment is misused, and the actions of other people. You voluntarily assume these risks for yourself and all occupants and guests.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release FAMRV LLC and its members, managers, employees and agents from claims for injury, illness, loss or damage arising out of your rental or use of the Vehicle, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence, willful misconduct, or violation of law. You are responsible for informing all occupants of the risks and safety instructions provided to you.
19. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless FAMRV LLC and its members, managers, employees and agents from and against all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, fines, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: your or any occupant's use of the Vehicle; any breach of these Terms or the Rental Agreement; any prohibited use; or your violation of any law or third-party right — except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
20. Disclaimer of warranties
Except as expressly stated in these Terms or the Rental Agreement, the Site and our services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We inspect and maintain every Vehicle, but to the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that appliances, the generator, climate systems, connectivity or other amenities will operate without interruption.
21. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FAMRV LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost vacation or enjoyment, travel, lodging, campsite, event ticket or replacement transportation costs, however caused. Our total liability arising out of or related to these Terms, the Site or any rental will not exceed the total amount you paid us for the rental giving rise to the claim.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for our fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct.
22. Use of the website
- The Site and its content — including text, photos, graphics, design, logos and the FamRV name — are owned by or licensed to FAMRV LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. You may view the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
- You may not copy, reproduce, scrape, frame, or republish Site content or photos; use bots or automated tools to access the Site; interfere with its security or operation; submit false, fraudulent or spam booking requests; impersonate any person; or use the Site for any unlawful purpose.
- Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party sites or services.
- We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time.
23. Reviews, photos & feedback
- If you submit a review, testimonial, photo or other content to us or tag us on social media, you grant FAMRV LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, reproduce, display and share it (with your first name and trip location, unless you ask us not to) to promote our services. You represent that you have the right to grant this license.
- Reviews must reflect your genuine experience. Posting false, misleading, defamatory or fraudulent statements about FamRV, or reviews by anyone who did not rent from us, is prohibited, and we reserve all legal rights and remedies. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from posting an honest review of your experience.
- Any ideas or suggestions you send us may be used without obligation to you.
24. Communications
By providing your phone number and email address, you agree that we may contact you by phone, text message and email about your booking request, rental and account, including messages sent with automated technology. Message and data rates may apply. We will send marketing messages only with your consent, and you can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text or using the unsubscribe link in an email. You agree that electronic communications, records and signatures satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing.
25. Payment disputes & chargebacks
If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us first so we can resolve it quickly. Disputing a valid charge with your card issuer for a rental you booked and received, or for charges authorized by these Terms and the Rental Agreement, is a breach of these Terms. We may provide your booking records, Rental Agreement, condition reports, photos, communications and these Terms to the card issuer, and you agree to pay any amounts found owed together with reasonable collection costs.
26. Dispute resolution & arbitration
Informal resolution first
Before starting any claim, you and we each agree to send the other a written notice describing the dispute and the relief requested, and to try in good faith to resolve it for at least 30 days. Notices to us go to [email protected] and FAMRV LLC, 8344 Reseda Blvd, Northridge, CA 91324.
Binding arbitration
If the dispute is not resolved, any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Site, the Rental Agreement or any rental (“Dispute”) will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, before a single arbitrator, in Los Angeles County, California, or by video conference if you prefer. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this Section. The arbitrator may award any individual relief a court could award. Fees are allocated as provided in the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules.
Exceptions
Either party may (a) bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies; (b) seek injunctive relief in court to stop infringement of intellectual property or misuse of the Site; and (c) we may pursue collection of undisputed amounts owed, or recovery of the Vehicle, in court. Claims for public injunctive relief, to the extent they cannot be arbitrated under applicable law, will be stayed until the arbitrable claims are resolved.
Class action waiver
You and we agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims of more than one person.
30-day right to opt out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing [email protected] with the subject “Arbitration Opt-Out,” your name and booking details, within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
If the class action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim will proceed in court under Section 27, not in arbitration.
27. Governing law & venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Subject to Section 26, the exclusive venue for any court proceeding is the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you and we consent to their personal jurisdiction. In any action to enforce these Terms or the Rental Agreement, the prevailing party may recover its reasonable attorneys' fees and costs, to the extent permitted by law.
28. Events beyond our control
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including fire, wildfire, smoke, flood, storms, earthquakes, road or park closures, event cancellations, government orders, epidemics, accidents or mechanical failures not caused by our negligence, labor disputes, or failures of utilities or third-party providers. Our remedy in these cases is described in Section 6.
29. General terms
- Changes. We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page with a new effective date. Changes do not apply retroactively to a confirmed booking without your consent, except for changes required by law.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the rest of these Terms remain in effect.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the Rental Agreement, your written confirmation and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about their subject matter.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your booking or these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them to an affiliate or successor.
- Survival. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including payment obligations, damage responsibility, indemnification, limitations of liability and dispute resolution — survive the end of your rental.
